Eurovia Contracting is currently seeking a talented Commercial Director.  Reporting to the Managing Director – Contracting, this role is key in developing, agreeing and owning the Contracting Commercial strategy, operating framework, processes and competency plans.  The role holder must ensure that these plans are kept relevant and appropriate for the current and future direction of our businesses.

We will empower you to lead, inspire, motivate and manage the Contracting Commercial Function to enable the achievement of the Company’s Vision, Values and Strategy, whilst delivering agreed annual financial targets.

We will trust you to support and ensure that the Estimating teams and Quantity Surveying functions remain under the control of our Divisions to ensure accountability and provide them with a Commercial framework of process, policy and standards to work within, while ensuring a strong link with our group’s strategic bidding functions.

Some of your responsibilities:

Provide Commercial advice to all Divisions in regard to Contract queries (client or supplier) and ensure that the proposed recommendations are in line with our overall Values and Objectives
Manage and coordinate the process for all formal Dispute Resolutions 
Lead on the management of the supply chain strategy ensuring that the Division is using an appropriate selection framework for choice of suppliers, contract terms and payment mechanisms and leveraging, where appropriate, group strategic buying power
Work with the Leadership and Development Manager to develop a pipeline of future Commercial staff
Ensure strategic and local bidding is delivered in line with the Group approach and has the right foundations for the Divisions to produce a sustainable financial return
Provide oversight and approval to the review of Contracts and their commitments for projects bid by the Contracting Estimators 
Maintain the overall Risk Management strategy across the Contracting Divisions ensuring that risk is actively managed within Divisions and escalated when required
With an aspiration to automate our approach to estimating, planning, measurement and forecasting, work with the Contracting SMT to develop appropriate solutions that achieve this objective

Substantial proven experience at a senior level within a similar industry 
RICS Chartership preferable but not essential
